Amechi Idodo Community on Wednesday 25th January paid a solidarity visit to Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the march governorship election in Enugu state.
Speaking during the visit at the residence of Mbah, the leader of the delegation, HRH Igwe H.A. Edeani, the Eze Chiemerie 1 of Ohani, Amechi Idodo, extolled the virtues of the PDP flagbearer and described him as a special gift from God for the people of Idodo zone and Enugu state in general.
The Igwe who doubles as the chairman of the Council of Chiefs in Nkanu East Local Government Area used the occasion to thank Dr Mbah who he described as a son of the community for making himself available for the purpose of leading the state.
In a statement issued at the end of the visit in the candidate’s GRA residence, the secretary of Amechi Idodo Clan Federated Union, Mr Ike Abonyi Igwulube said that the occasion was used to hand over to Mbah the campaign vehicles donated by the community to his campaign organization. This was among other campaign materials some of which shall be presented on the day of his campaign at Amankanu LCDA secretariat in Amechi Idodo on the 2nd of February.
Responding, Dr. Mba who did not pretend about his expectation of support from Amechi Idodo expressed surprise at the level it is beginning to come. He was happy that Amechi Idodo people could organize themselves in a united and peaceful way to give rise to such gigantic support for his campaign.

The visibly elated governorship candidate stated that the presentation of the 2 branded Sienna buses was a giant stride which clearly indicates that the people of Amechi Idodo understand what it means to take a leadership position in the campaign to have a son of Nkanu East who is also from Idodo Zone to become the governor of Enugu State in the next couple of weeks.
The business mogul who currently enjoys unprecedented support for the Enugu state seat of power, therefore, assured that his administration shall ensure that Amechi Idodo is part and parcel of his government policy when elected, while finally advising that no one should relent until victory is declared come March.
Among the people who represented the community in the solidarity visit was HRH Igwe H A Edeani of Ohani, who was the head of the team. Other dignitaries in the high-powered delegation drawn from the four communities that make up Idodo Clan included HRH Igwe J O Ngene of Eziama, Hon. Sylvanus Ogbu, who is the president of Amechi Idodo Clan Federated Union and his secretary, Mr Ike Abony. Others were town union leaders, businessmen and women, professionals and politicians both at home and those based outside the state.
The solidarity homage to Dr Peter Mbah by the leaders of Amechi Idodo was a brilliant and strategic effort knowing fully that the respected politician is like a son to the community.
Owo, a neighbouring town to Amechi Idodo is gearing up to make history as the first community in Nkanu East Local Government of Enugu state to produce a democratically elected governor of the state, and it’s simply an opportunity that Amechi Idodo should play a prominent role in pushing to the limelight.
Apart from the combined effort of the whole community which has given birth to this historic feat of donating campaign vehicles, individuals and social groups from Amechi Idodo have since the beginning of the campaign season contributed variously in no small measures to support the PDP candidate.

Among such initial support was the effort of a leading-community social movement called Idodo Peoples Assembly which formed an arm called Amechi Idodo Action Group for Peter Mbah. The group began sounding the initial mobilization bell and wake-up call unto the people of the community – an effort kicked off with the erection of campaign billboards for the PDP candidate in the community, as well as a plan to sponsor media jingles in the near future.
Idodo Peoples Assembly also served as the rallying arena for mobilizing the community towards this great accomplishment of donation to Peter Mbah’s campaign organisation.
